Session I (7 weeks): Sept 10 – Oct 25
COST: $63 cash/check or $67 credit card for each class, except Breakdance ($54 cash/check or $57 credit cards)
DEADLINE: Registration due Saturday, September 8 by noon.
LATE FEE: $5.
(No breakdance on Tuesday, Oct 9)
Session II (7 weeks): Oct 29 – Dec 20

Kids Dance Schedule for Fall 2012
|Ages 4-5||5:00-5:45pm||Wiggle, Giggle, Imagine In this class, your child will have an opportunity to explore their creativity and imagination. The building blocks of dance will be introduced through movement games and activities. We recommend that your child wear comfortable clothes; no jeans, please.|
|Tap Dance In these classes, your child will have the opportunity to discover the wonderful world of tap dancing. Your child will use rhythmic steps to create dance that you can both see and hear. Each class will focus on developing tap vocabulary, learning how to tap together as a group, and increasing overall musicality and dance technique. No previous experience necessary. Please wear tap shoes and comfortable exercise clothing.|

|Breakdance Join us this fall to learn the basics of breakdancing. Brent Fields will lead these classes in exploring freestyling, starting with the fundamentals and progressing through top rocks, drops, footwork, power moves, and freezes. Students will also explore how to dance with individual character and creativity. An active, creative class!Please note: there are no breakdance classes on October 9. Session I is 1 week less and will cost less. See here.|

|Introduction to Dance In these classes, your child will be introduced to the fundamentals of Ballet and Modern Dance. The emphasis will be on developing proper technique, improving strength and flexibility, and increasing dance vocabulary and terms. Students will have an opportunity to utilize their imagination and creativity through various dance games and activities. No previous experience is necessary. We welcome dancers of all experience. Tight, leotards, and ballet slippers are encouraged, but not required.|

|Ages 18mo – 36 mo||5:30-6:15pm||Boogie Babies Introduce your toddler to the wonderful world of dance. In this class, you and your child will be dancing together! Creative movement will be explored by dancing games, fun songs, and movement stories.|
|Ages 3-4||6:15-7:00pm||Shake and Create In this class, your child will be introduced to creative movement and dance. Your child will have an opportunity to jump, shake, spin, and wiggle, while using their imagination!|
|Ages 12 – Adult||7:15-8:30pm||NEW! Ballet Basics: Stretch and Strengthen Have you always wanted to learn ballet? Well, this is the class for you. In this class, you will be introduced to the basics of ballet, including: barre work, jumps, turns, leaps, and small combinations. Special emphasis will be placed on strengthening the muscles used in ballet and increasing overall flexibility! Basic ballet vocabulary will also be taught.|
For all classes except Breakdancing — ALLISON JACOBS has been dancing and teaching in greater Cincinnati and New York City for the past twenty years. Her dance training is primarily focused on Ballet and Modern. However, Allison is also well versed in Tap, Jazz, Hip-hop, Musical Theater, Swing, and Contact Improvisation. Allison has worked with Tanze Performing Arts Studio, Hamilton Ballet Theater, Miami Valley Ballet Theater, Long Island University, Contemporary Dance Theater, Ballet Tech, and Fresh Air Fund. Most recently, Allison has taught dance for Contemporary Dance Theater, Cincinnati Waldorf School, Cincinnati Public Schools, MamLuft&Co. Dance, as well as for the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Public Libraries. As a lover of all dance and all art forms, Allison is also a proud member of the Greater Cincinnati Dance Alliance, a group who engages the community in dance. In addition to teaching dance, Allison is a recent graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Psychology and a minors in dance, honors, sociology, and art history. For Breakdancing — BRENT FIELDS holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Morehead State University and is a American College of Sports Medicine Certified Fitness Specialist and Personal Trainer. He has worked with Jaron Joiner, performed at Lupe Fiasco, City Nights, and community events as a hip hop dancer, and has professional audition experience (Cirque Du Soleil and Paula Abdul’s Dance Show). Mr. Fields is a new teacher at Contemporary Dance Theater.
