Choreographers Without Companies 2010
This year's concert dates are June 11 & 12, at the Jarson-Kaplan Theater at the Aronoff Center for the Arts in downtown Cincinnati.
Independent choreographers are encouraged to apply to Choreographers Without Companies Dancers within companies may also apply if they want to create something that they would not have an option to present in their company.
A choreographer can apply to present a new work or a reprisal of a previous work, priority will be given to new works. Someone could apply for both options, it would be up to the adjudication committee to decide which proposal would be accepted if both were found to be strong. It is highly unlikely that both proposals would be accepted for presentation.
Choreographers from outside the area with ties to Cincinnati will be allowed to apply, but choreographers who currently have numerous performance/production options are not being solicited, this program is intended to serve choreographers of the area or with very strong relationships with the area who do not have other adequate presentation options. It is not another touring artist event.
The deadline for the applications is November 1, 2009 – supplementary materials may be delivered to CDT no later than November 9, 2009. The adjudication committee will meet in November/early December and notices will be mailed by the first of the year.
