The music ranges from techno, to rock, to jazz, to world musics.

Modern Dance III -- This class taught by Dolores Lagdameo begins with a simple full body warm up using breath and concentrating on releasing tension and gaining mobility. The following series of exercises focus on strong placement and classical technique that support a contemporary style balancing lyricism, fluidity, and athleticism. The class culminates in longer across the floor phrases and combinations that utilize the strength, body awareness, and the stylistic sensibility built up throughout the class. The vocabulary taught also carries influences ranging from West African dance, dance theater, a touch of kung fu and a fair share of jazz and ballet.

Modern Dance Advanced -- Judith Mikita teaches a a modern dance class for advanced and professional level dancers with an intention toward performance. The class begins with a full-bodied warm-up, which includes release exercises and floor work combined with more technically based standing work. The class culminates with an athletically challenging phrase that includes both highly technical elements and dramatic content. Each class will focus on teaching the mind and body to work smarter, not harder by emphasizing relaxation in proper alignment, core support, technical soundness, and spatial exploration. Dancers will be given advanced movement phrases and asked to not only physically execute them, but also approach them with an intention toward performance. Material for this class is drawn from various techniques and movement styles including Cunningham/Limon/ Nikolais, musical theater and middle - American culture.

Musical Theatre Dance I/II -- taught by Steve Irwin, this class expands on basics from ballet and jazz and features a wide variety of choreography set to songs from Broadway musicals. Steve says, "We will cover from Fosse to Hairspray from A Chorus Line to Oklahoma. Come and get your Broadway on!"

This will be accomplished through technique instruction, practice of routines and improvisational exercises. Students will learn dance styles independent of each other, and later learn how styles of dancing can be fused together to form an eclectic genre. Each class will begin with stretching, followed by technique instruction. As the class progresses, students will learn routines which strengthen choreographic phrasing skills. Some routines learned include cabaret style belly dancing, flamenco alegrias and veil dancing. Come to get a fun and sensuous workout in a relaxed atmosphere.

Jazz I/II - Emily Kettula's class begins with a center warm up, followed by across the floor work and culminating in a short piece of choreography. Jazz is a very broad genre, and Emily's class will incorporate a mixture of styles. The class will approach both movements that are sharp and syncopated and movements that are long and fill the music. There will be opportunities to improve flexibility, strength, and balance while experiencing the joy and empowerment of moving to music.

"Just Dance" -- Taught by Diana L. Ford, Just Dance entails a variety of different types of movements and forms of dances, such as hip-hop, African, modern and jazz. The class starts with a short warm-up, then it goes straight into the first routine, and continues going through each song until the class ends. Diana demonstrates everything step by step until a dance routine is created. That routine is what the class then practices until they can do the dance. In addition, these routines are repeated every week, and will occasionally change throughout the term. As the class comes to an end, we do some more stretching exercises as a "cool down". "Just Dance" is a slightly high impact cardio workout, and is suitable for most levels of dancers.
