“An ingenious trompe l’oeil fusion of physical and video image bodies…merged and then disappeared with magical and fascinating suddenness.”

- New York Times

Bridgman/Packer Dance. Acclaimed for blasting the duet form into a magically populated stage where image and reality collide, Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer’s catapulting partnering, deep sensuality, and surprising humor give their work a physically and theatrically riveting edge.

Double Expose is a fantastical exploration of identity, relationship, and the human psyche.  Choreographers and performers Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer, along with video projections, fill the stage with a variety of personalities.  Blending live camera, animation, and prerecorded city scenes, Bridgman and Packer create multi-layered perspectives and surreal mindscapes that bounce the viewer between the living present and virtual existence. Double Expose is the culmination of work done during Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer’s Guggenheim Fellowship and takes their integration of live performance and video technology to a new level.  Collaborators include filmmaker Peter Bobrow, composer Ken Field, lighting designer Frank DenDanto III, and animator Karen Aqua.

In Under the Skin, the performers' bodies and costumes become projection screens creating a morphing and redefining of identities.  Bridgman and Packer interchange with their ever multiplying virtual selves to reveal hidden psychological depths.  The original score of resounding horns and striking rhythms was created by composer/saxophonist Ken Field.
