“Energetic dancing where tripled tango mélanges float and jump across the stage, wheelie suitcases seem to double the size of the dance troupe, and spirited acrobatics keep your attention as hopping as the dancers are.” — SPLASH MAGAZINE
Contemporary Dance Theater welcomes award winning artistic director and choreographer, Julia Rhoads and the Lucky Plush Productions company, performing its new work, The Queue
Co-created by Julia Rhoads and Leslie Buxbaum Danzig, The Queue is a perfect marriage of dance and theater. Set in a fictional airport, the piece humorously and poignantly chronicles the adventure of waiting in line while addressing two key questions:
How do private dramas in public spaces slip into spectacle?
How does one respond to tragedy when travel must be arranged?
The Queue features live music by The Claudettes, a neo-vaudevillian drum and piano duo.
