What is Performance and Time Arts?
A project of Contemporary Dance Theater, Performance and Time Arts (PTA) is Cincinnati’s longest-running performance art series showcasing new work in dance, music, theater, spoken-word and multi-media.
In the laboratory setting of the 1890s College Hill Town Hall, both seasoned and emerging artists are given the opportunity to share innovative work and experiments with Cincinnati audiences.
Cincinnati CityBeat says PTA “consistently brings together the city’s most eclectic and edgy batch of performing arts.”
Contemporary Dance Theater’s next Performance & Time Arts show of the 2016-2017 season will take place on Friday & Saturday, April 7 & 8, at 8:00pm at the College Hill Town Hall. This PTA show will be produced and directed by Glenda Figueiredo & Colleen Byrne, and will include a diverse blend of music, dance, poetry, theater, and multimedia by local performers and artists.
Artists in the show will include:
Anupama Rao Mirle - choreographer/dancer
Pones Inc. - dance
Olivia Hinds, Jeff Smith and Preston Bell Charles III - music and painting collaboration
Glenda Figueiredo - choreographer/dancer
Colleen Byrne - choreographer
Also featured: Derek Snow, Monica Marie, Neile Martin, Whitney Szabo, Mark Szabo, Shawn Elsbernd and Jay Ensminger
For the past twenty years, the Performance and Time Arts series (p.t.a.) has been providing Cincinnati with challenging, experimental, alternative, and slightly off-the-wall art and entertainment, under the sponsorship of Contemporary Dance Theater. Since the p.t.a. shows are curated by a variety of different producers, different shows can present a variety of different styles and aesthetic visions.
This is the last show of the 2016-17 PTA season!
