What is Performance and Time Arts?
A project of Contemporary Dance Theater, Performance and Time Arts (PTA) is Cincinnati’s longest-running performance art series showcasing new work in dance, music, theater, spoken-word and multi-media.
In the laboratory setting of the 1890s College Hill Town Hall, both seasoned and emerging artists are given the opportunity to share innovative work and experiments with Cincinnati audiences.
Cincinnati CityBeat says PTA “consistently brings together the city’s most eclectic and edgy batch of performing arts.”
Contemporary Dance Theater will kick-off its 2015-2016 season of the Performance & Time Arts series on Friday & Saturday, November 13th & 14th, at 8:00pm at the College Hill Town Hall. This thought-provoking Fall show covering the themes of social justice and social change will be produced and directed by choreographer and dancer, Diana L. Ford, and will include a diverse blend of music, dance, poetry, and multimedia by local performers and artists. Ms. Ford will be debuting excerpts from her theatrical production in the making, Welcome to America: There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This Crap, which is based on her community Facebook blog page: https://www.facebook.com/WelcometoAmerica.TheresGottaBeSomethingBetter.

For the past twenty years, the Performance and Time Arts series (p.t.a.) has been providing Cincinnati with challenging, experimental, alternative, and slightly off-the-wall art and entertainment, under the sponsorship of Contemporary Dance Theater. Since the p.t.a. shows are curated by a variety of different producers, different shows can present a variety of different styles and aesthetic visions.
